Motorcycle vs. Car - I have a car but I was considering selling it and getting a motorcycle.?

Porfirio Gartland: with gas prices rising i'd say go for it, and for the L.A. traffic, it is legal for bikes to split lanes

Kenneth Queener: It was mentioned that I could also rent a car if I ever needed it. And if I did go with the motorcycle, I would be spending the next five or six months getting used to it here. I'm also going down to L.A. next week, so I'll get a chance to drive in the traffic and get the experience of driving a car down there.

Cierra Gadbaw: Consider keeping your car and saving up for a bike. Have both.

Kris Bozelle: I live in Kansas and I have been riding for 26 years. I can't even imagine operating a motorcycle in LA traffic. I love motorcycles, but this time I would say keep your car.

Burt Cheevers: Sounds like your coming from a small town to a big city, so don't get a motorcycle unless your an experienced rider. Able to see or predict situations before they happen in front of you is of major importance on 2 wheels. I w! ould bring a car, get used to traffic in L.A. and then later get a bike, once I'm used to hectic life there.

Sol Bayn: I have lived in Los Angeles for over 40 years. I drive car, company vans, and motorcycles. I have have had four bumps on my cars, two on the company vans, *no* bumps on motorcycles. A motorcycle is smaller, faster, more agile, has *no* blind sides, can dodge and slip of places that cars can not. A motorcycle is *safer* than a motorcycle.
