I want to connect another woofer spkr in my home theater.?

Lou Rought: Minus the fact I Agree with everyone that you need a new system. Don't connect the woofer speaker, its counter productive. Current will flow to both systems. Depending on the Wattage the system may divide the power equally or attempt to and most likely destroy the components in the sub system/amp. So over all, don't do it. You don't see companies releasing a new system that can run Two Subs. Always just one.

Moises Rupinski: By the sound of it, you have a cheap crappy home theater in a box system. So yeah, trying to hook another subwoofer into it is likely to damage both the sub, and the amp.

Ramona Pago: If it's only got a 'Peak music power out' rating, it's a toy - sorry...My old PC desk speakers are marked '120W PMPO' - but only take 4W from the mains, so allowing for amp efficiencies it makes them about 1W RMS each, at most.Get a decent amp, then you can connect a decent sub to it.You can occasionally get Sony STR-DA2400ES amps on ebay - they ar! e one of the best surround amps ever made, with seven channels each rated at 110W RMS.. In PMPO figures, that's probably over 100,000 watts total. All decent surround amps have outputs for active subs.Note that you need an _active_ sub for decent sound, as normal loudspeakers do not work well as subwoofer-type frequencies.Active subs typically use motion feedback or servo-type control of the speaker cone to force it to move properly, which cannot be done with a passive sub.See the links for examples. The Yamaha sub as in the second link is particularly good, it's a serious room-shaker without sounding out of place with music playback.[Electronics designer for 30+ years]....Show more
