is steam cleaning better than dry cleaning carpets ?

Shandi Wedge: I think steam vacuum cleaner is the best choice. I use ML-SV093S , it works well.

Adrian Paraz: carpet steam cleaning must be done to remove dirt and other harmful bacteria and germs from the carpet where as dry cleaning is for drying the carpet quickly................

Truman Biby: extremely tough matter. lookup from yahoo. this could help!

Adelle Weight: Steam cleaning is the only method recommended by 99% of Carpet MillsMost steam cleaning professionals do not leave any residue in the carpet. (make sure they are using a fiber rinse to confirm they are residue free)Most dry cleaning methods do leave significant soap residues in the carpet causing rapid re-soiling. (none of the detergents, soaps & surfactants are rinsed and removed from the carpet when dry cleaning method is used.)Truck-Mounted units always should be used. They are a ton more powerful than portable equipment and will remove more soil and dry faster. Make sure you confirm th! ey are "Truck-Mounted"Hint: Look for a steam cleaning company that dries in less than 8 hours and they will have very effective Truck Mounted cleaning equipment.PET ODOR: Both dry and steam cleaning WILL NOT remove pet odor. Urine have salts that will not break down from water or carpet cleaning agents alone.A blacklight and an enzyme such as Urine Off should be used prior to cleaning. At least 3 days before. Alecia Kaehler: Defiantly steam clean them. If you are talking about the spray foam like you can get in a can and do it your self. You will accomplish cleaning them some. But what you actually end up doing is to make the carpet look better, but the fo! am is pressed into your carpet and left to dry (embedded) in y! our carpet. Not only does it leave residue in the carpet, it also caused dirt ,spills. etc to build up on your carpet quicker than it did before.
