Mozell Sponsler: 1. Global warming is the theory that human produced CO2 increases the temperature. There is a political movement that exaggerates the actually likely increase to punish industrialized nations. It is based on computer models but they have a terrible history of being wrong in the real world. The climate is too complex to model on a single cause. Water is a much greater greenhouse gas and CO2 already absorb essentially 100 percent of the infrared radiation bands it is capable of absorbing. 2. All things that produce CO2. The combined effect from all human activity is likely much less than one degree. The ocean has 50 times as much CO2 as the air and can absorb any extra. 3. It is not happening. The Earth has been cooling. While it is probably slightly warmer than it would have been without the CO2 the climate varies widely and there are feedback mechanisms that keep the Earth from warming too much. The minor effect from CO2 is likely largely canc! eled out.4. Greenhouse warming warms nighttime and the polar regions more.5. It is increasing crop yields by making warmer nights and longer growing seasons. Extra CO2 is a huge benefit to plants increasing both photosynthetic efficiency and drought tolerance....Show more
Solomon Belback: Jeez, this guy above me ^^^ is very pessimistic. 1. Global warming is basically the gradual warming of the Earth due to excess emissions in the air and many other things caused by humans. Not to be confused with climate change which is basically a change in long term patterns of the Earth's weather, warmer or colder. Global warming is not higher temperatures, it's extreme weather or weather out of pattern. 2. Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases, mainly, carbon dioxide or CO2. It has been proven that it is happening by scientists all over the world. However, some choose not to believe it because scientists are telling the public that it is not happening because they are g! etting paid by global warming producing companies. Much like d! octors were getting paid by tobacco companies a while back that smoking does no harm to you. We all know what smoking does to you now... and a lot of people regret it. There is a layer of pollution in the atmosphere that has built up over time. Picture it as a big blanket around the Earth. The Earth got hot because its trapping all the gases and pollutants inside anddoesn'tt give it a neutral temperature. So, what happens is the Earth increased... by 1 degree. Which may not seem like Aloot, but is has a HUGE impact on the Earth. It traps the pollutants in and the suns heat inside which warms it up. Coal burning plants are the biggest emission producer, followed by cars. Alot of people are saying that it is a naturaoccurringng process, which could be true, but does that me that all these BILLIONS of cars on the road has NOTHING to do with it? You tell me. 3. I kinda covered that in number 2. 4. Global warming is effecting us everywhere! It is mostly visible in the arctic whe! re it is visible that the ice caps are melting... but there are so many more ways you can see global warminoccurringng, especially in the ocean.5. Long story short, if global warming continues at this rate, we are going to have to put the Homo Sapien on the endangered species list....Show more
Marita Stadick: 1. When the globe (earth) gets warmer for a period of time.2. The SUN! Then all the other stuff factors in to where and how it warms and cools. But the SUN is the main cause.3. Once again. The sun followed by a bunch of stuff.4. The earth. Because we don't refer to Mars as a globe, even though it really is.5. Not much. Every time a tragedy happens we blame it on something convienient. But the truth be told, we have added 2 billion people onto this globe since the 60s plus television and now the internet. Tragedies have always happened and now there are more to get hurt and be made aware....Show more
